How sweet The Lily Grows
This is an unusual rendition of the Lily using the triadic color plan of purple,green and orange.

This is a challenging design to paint. The white gardenia is shaded in colors of pink, purples, and gray. The foliage is popped out using a technique called negative painting.

This painting was inspired by my recent trip to Greece. I fell in love with the white pot with a simple stem of pink flowers cascading out of the top.

I think yellow flowers are difficult but this one came together. Notice the background foliage painted in a loosely negative fashion. Avaialble as a print.

This was great fun to paint. I can't wait to frame it! It will be one of the paintings we will do in my winter 2010 negative painting class at Anne Arundel Community College.

I had fun painting this one. The Hydrangeas were done on a base of Acrylic Gesso. I love the simplicity of the design and I think I kept it fresh. Click on the image for a print!
